The Autumn Equinox workshop was a celebration of the yam harvest and its importance in world heritage and culture through education and food.
We wished to continue our aim, following on from our summer retreat, to decolonise, value and pay homage to our cultural foods which provide authentic healing and further claiming ancestral knowledge.
We asked audiences to bring their indigenous ingredients: vegetables and herbs you cannot find on supermarket shelves that have more nutritional value than the usual cuisine. Liberating our health and relationship with plant-based foods rich in goodness is what the body needs to thrive.
We also ran a visual arts workshop alongside this to document all the beautiful produce that comes through the doors. Additionally, we had holistic and wellbeing stalls from energy healing, crystals and more.
