Diversity Dialogues

We held an open dialogue about the arts scene in Liverpool, particularly around Black and POC visibility and engagement. From participation, artist opportunities and community engagement - the discussion was about the cultural offering of diverse arts in Liverpool.

Our panellists included Gemma Bodinetz Artistic Director of Everyman Theatres, Curtis Watt Artist and Activist, Michelle Charters CEO Kuumbaimani. Audiences got a chance to speak with the artists we engage, artists found out potential opportunities in our arts institutions and heard from the leaders in the institutions themselves.

It was a vital discussion on how artists can access opportunities, why and how to improve the lack of representation and how we can get communities connected to institution and arts. It was very important to see that there is more potential to partner on projects and have more events in the community itself.

Feedback from our audiences

“Really interesting discussions on important issues open dialogue – good to see influencers in the arts all in one place.”
