SPOKEN WORD POETRY NIGHT
BlackFest Spoken Word Poetry Night has historically been a night of informative, powerful and inspiring words from Liverpool’s local lyrical talent, this year after a period of restructuring and reimagining audiences were welcomed to see what’s been brewing behind the scenes and what that means for our spoken word segment of the festival.
Audiences met our lineup of local poets, who performed live and experimented with the discipline through the exploration of various themes and styles. We also had an open mic opportunity that allowed us to hear the beautiful poetry that our audience members had to offer, opening up the dialogue to new themes and encouraging more of the audience to share.
